If you have a busy toddler, you know it can be hard to help them sit still. It’s something you learn again and again. If you are looking for something productive and fun for them to do we have made some seasonal activities for you child! Toddler school helps them learn through play. Toddler trays are a great way to keep their interest and learn about the world around them.
Making themed toddler trays for the seasons is extremely fun. We have 12 toddler trays, feel free to put them on low bookshelves or somewhere easy for your toddler to reach. These trays are winter themed, there are 12 trays and are great to have out for a couple weeks. This is my first toddler tray and I hope to do more for all of you. It will be fun to see how these go!

Pattern Block Snowflakes
What You Need
How to Play
Print out the snowflake pattern block templates and have your toddler put the right blocks on the pattern to make the snowflake shapes. Or just let them play with the pattern blocks. 🙂
Snowflake Glitter Craft
What You Need
How to Play
Draw a snowflake design with the white crayon on the black paper. You can have your toddler glue over the lines you draw, but they may not be able to do that. Just let them glue the way the want. Then help them sprinkle glitter over the glue. When the glue dries, pour the extra glitter off of the page.
Color Matching with Paint Chips
What You Need
How to Play
Make sure you have four different colors of paint chips and have two paint chips for each color (we used white, dark gray, dark blue and light blue). Have your toddler pick up the chip, find the matching chip and then put the match into the bow.
Transfer Blue Flat Marbles
What You Need
How to Play
Put two bowls on the tray. Fill one with the blue flat marbles. Have your toddler use their fingers to transfer the blue flat marbles from one bowl to the other bowl.
Snowflakes fall on the ground
What You Need
- Juice Bottle
- Cotton Balls
- Brown Construction Paper (optional)
How to Play
If you want to, you can put the brown construction paper around the bottom of the juice bottle so it looks like the ground. Have your toddler drop the cotton ball “snowflakes” into the juice bottle “ground”.
Color Game 1 – Egg Carton Color Matching and Color Game 2 – I Spy Cards
I’ve done separate posts on these color games as part of the Color Games for Toddlers series. Click the links to see more about them! Color Games 1, Color Games 2
Toddler Book
Print out Winter Toddler school book. It has simple phrases and uses sight words. Don’t expect your toddler to learn to read by looking at this book. This book is intended to help them gain a love of reading. You can read this to them throughout the week and point out the words as you read them.
Winter Printables
Build a Snowman (Snowman Preschool Pack part 2, page 6) Your toddler doesn’t need to use the dice, just have them put the snowman together. Color Winter clothes (Winter Fun pack – coloring winter clothes). Let them color the pictures with the correct color of crayon.
Featured Toy
Mega Bloks (these are normally in the play area. I will simply have them on a tot tray to make them extra special. We’ll see how that works 😉 ).
Themed Books
