Homemade playdough is pretty easy to make, but seeing it done first always helps. We make this recipe all the time, and the video shows you exactly how.
How do I make homemade playdough?
Making homemade playdough is honestly pretty easy, but if you’re like me, seeing the directions first might be useful. We absolutely love the playdough recipe that I use in this video. There are tons of playdough recipes and everybody has their favorite and this one is my favorite. Why do I like it so much? It doesn’t dry out! We live in a super dry climate so if you do too, I definitely recommend this recipe.

I found this playdough recipe from Coupon Wizards. That recipe is for gingerbread playdough, so obviously I’ve adapted it for regular playdough. If you want your playdough to be springy, here are some fun scent and coloring ideas:
- lavender
- raspberry
- lemon
- rose
- banana
- vanilla
- lilac
- Kool-Aid (makes it smell nice and colors it!)
- food coloring
- neon food coloring
- liquid watercolors

A few minutes is normal at this age. Follow your child’s lead and stop while it is still fun.
