With so much going on during the Christmas season, here are a few activities to help your family remember the true meaning of Christmas. This Christmas scripture countdown is a great start, but even apart from that there are more ways to incorporate the nativity into a preschool activity.

Print out these amazing nativity pictures for a nativity play. The character pictures are found after the nativity play; just scroll down a little to find them. This activity is one my kids ask to do often.

First, print off the nativity pictures. Just right click the picture, click “save link as”, save the link somewhere you will remember (like the desktop), then find the copy of the picture you saved and print it as a full page.

Then, laminate the picture and put magnets on the back. Use them to tell the nativity story with the characters on the fridge or a cookie sheet. Then have your child retell the story.

You can make nativity word cards that can be used with a flat marble alphabet. To do this activity have your child put one nativity card on a cookie sheet. Then have them find the character that goes with the card (by sounding out the letters or just by color matching) and put the picture in the empty box on the left.

Next, have your child use the flat marble alphabet (you can attach magnets to the back so they stick to the cookie sheet) to fill in the letters on the word cards. When all the letters are filled in, have them say the word.
